Breathomics Research

Breathomics offers a promising approach for distinguishing airway diseases with overlapping symptoms, such as asthma, bronchiectasis, and COPD. Because these conditions can share clinical features including cough, shortness of breath, wheezing, and airway inflammation, conventional symptom-based evaluation may not fully capture their underlying biological differences. Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) detected in exhaled breath can provide a noninvasive chemical snapshot of metabolic activity, oxidative stress, inflammation, and environmental exposure.

Breast cancer markers for African American women

women. We evaluated the serum proteomic profile of AA women with breast
cancer using an integrated proteomic framework with multivariate pattern analysis. Read the paper.

Soft sensor projects

This research develops soft sensor models to predict ethanol and other key product concentrations using easy-to-measure process variables such as temperature, pH, oxidation-reduction potential, and capacitance. Olfactory Neurons and Calcium signaling

This study examined how olfactory marker protein (OMP) contributes to smell signal transduction. Using olfactory sensory neurons from wild-type and OMP knockout mice, we showed that OMP OMP influences calcium homeostasis and olfactory neuron function. Read more
